progress!

Well my barefoot running is getting easier. I ran 4 blocks today... doesn't sound like much but for someone who couldn't run 1/3 of a block it is huge! I stepped on a sticker today that I can't get out. I have put a slice of onion on it and wrapped it with a bandage... I will let you know if it works tomorrow. The onion is supposed to pull the sliver out. I do wish I had the vibram socks. I wonder if they will interfere with getting the benefit of the earths electrical field? more research needed.

She's off

I have been intrigued reading about barefoot running. I am a 61 yr. old woman who is out of shape, overweight and pretty immobile. I am going to experiment with running barefooted on the grass to start. I was waiting until I could afford some vibram socks, but decided that I will do the grass thing to condition my feet!

As a child I never put shoes on unless I absolutely had too. My feet were so tough I could walk on stickers and not feel a thing. Now I am pretty prissy! I have had 3 back operations in the last 5 years with the last one being a waste of time & money. I heard about grounding myself by using the earths electrical charge to do it. I have been spending at least 30 min. outside on the ground barefooted to re ground myself. RESULTS have been significantly less pain. Friends have even commented that I seem to be doing better... I must not be walking like Amos McCoy as frequently as before. I have not done anything different but trying to Literally GROUND myself a little while each day. Ok well I haven't had any sugar for months either. That makes me achy.

Tomorrow I start the barefoot running. I just watched a video that says it is important to look up.... I was thinking it was important to look down so I didn't step on rocks or sharp objects! They also said to take shorter strides and listen for lightness... I can do that. I will report my progress tomorrow.

I am also trying to be more accountable with my food. I am committed to writing everything I eat down in Caloriecounter.com It is pretty painless.
